The history of women’s resistance as we know it spans centuries. Where there is oppression, there will always be resistance. Even though their names were not recorded in history, women have always resisted and claimed their lives. Today, we thousands of women here and millions throughout the world stand and see. We see the flailing of misogyny, racism and fascism confronting us. Every day, to exploit our labor, our sexuality and our bodies, they load the burden of the whole world onto us, bring our childbearing under control, condemn us to unequal conditions, act as though there is only one sexual orientation and two genders, inflict violence to bring us “into line,” lay hands on children, hand our lives over to male-dominated and religious institutions, draw the boundaries of life with their own hands and keep the right to violate those boundaries in their own hands; when their domination falters a little, they immediately draw their weapons. The ruling male-dominated order keeps women outside decision-making mechanisms and imposes a life we do not want.
To say “Enough already” is now out of place. It has been enough for a long time. It has been enough since the beginning. We have not gathered to call upon the system; we are here to propose a path to them. Against the system that wants to discipline us through violence, force, war, sweet words and the story of the family, we struggle through feminism, resist and rise in rebellion. We began by imagining another world, and we know this dream will be realized through togetherness and solidarity. Long live Feminism, Long live Feminist Struggle.
