A call to women and trans people;
In the 16th year of the March 8 Feminist Night March, we will once again be in Taksim.
Since last March 8, we have continued living under the state of emergency, facing attempts to discipline us through war, and enduring attacks on women that increase day by day. While the Directorate of Religious Affairs continues to occupy more space in our lives every day, we see excuses being sought at full speed to legitimize attacks on girls. Events we organize as LGBTI+ people are banned; they want to leave us no room to breathe.
But to share the breath we find in women’s solidarity and women’s struggle, to come together and draw strength from one another, we will meet at the March 8 Feminist Night March again this year.
Every year before March 8, we hold a series of meetings to organize the march, take responsibility and share the work. As feminists who want to organize this March 8 together, we meet at Feminist Mekan on Friday evening, February 2, at 19.00.
