Let us expand our resistance together on March 8!
A call to women and trans people;
Since last March 8, men’s violence and oppression have not been absent from the lives of women and trans people! But in response, our struggle spreads further every day and our rebellion grows!
The violent environment we live in has shown once again how vital it is for us to insist on peace and to live where the guns are silent. Today’s war multiplies violence and hatred against women and trans people and sharpens discriminatory policies, while its consequences for us are rendered invisible and no precautions are taken. The AKP government continues its words and practices legitimizing male violence. Policies to strengthen the family and increase the population, and divorce commissions, are built on imposing motherhood and flexible, insecure work on women.
Male violence and attacks on women do not slow down. Against all this, we women continue to claim our lives despite everything. Even in an atmosphere of increasing repression, we feminists continue our everyday and political struggle. We say that we stand for life, expose harassers and rapists, refuse to be imprisoned at home, believe in free love, live together as “girls and boys,” fall in love woman to woman, laugh out loud, divorce, do not give birth if we do not want to, abandon neither nights nor streets, and claim our lives in different ways despite every obstruction!
As women and trans people, we struggle in every area of our lives against male violence and the state that supports it. We fill the streets with the names of women who claim their lives. That women subjected to a lifetime of male violence are forced to kill their husbands to stay alive has shown us that there is no way to live except through resistance. We women grow stronger through our resistance, adding our voices to one another’s!
Against patriarchy, heterosexism and every manifestation of male violence, we grow stronger through women’s solidarity at home, at work and on the streets.
We will be liberated through women’s solidarity and our feminist struggle!
On March 8, we will not abandon the streets and public spaces!
